It’s been so hot the last few days, a smoothie sounded like the perfect thing to make! I like this recipe because it not only has blackberries in it, but also a peach—yum! Blackberries and peaches are such great summer fruits, so why not use them together in a smoothie? If you don’t have blackberries, you can use blueberries or raspberries. Use your berries frozen—it makes the smoothie thicker, not to mention really cool and refreshing!

Fresh Mango Smoothie
Summer is a great time to enjoy mangos—they just seem like a summery fruit to me. And I tend to make smoothies more in the summer too, so that’s how I came to make this Fresh Mango Smoothie. I usually use plain or vanilla Greek yogurt in my smoothies and I like sweetening them with honey. For this smoothie, I added in a little ground flaxseed for extra fiber. It’s so thick and creamy! And just the thing when you want something that tastes dessert-like but is also good for you!

This smoothie has kind of a long name but it sounds good, doesn’t it? I found this recipe in a cookbook called Eating Clean in Costa Rica. The instructions for the recipe included amounts measured in grams, milliliters, etc., so I converted the amounts and adjusted some amounts slightly.

I’m a big fan of peanut butter and have been since I was a kid. It’s just one of those classic foods that people of all ages love. If you’re a peanut butter lover too, you’ve probably seen PBfit® Peanut Butter Powder on the shelves at your grocery store. I received some complimentary samples of both the Chocolate and Original PBfit products, and learned a little more about them. They have 87% (yes 87%) less fat than traditional peanut butter and 1/3 of the calories. So that’s great news for peanut butter fans who are trying to cut calories!

It looks like this may turn out to be a really hot summer! It will actually be getting up in the 90’s where I live in the next few days–yikes!. When the weather gets that hot, I crave something cool and refreshing…like this Mango-Orange Smoothie! It’s surprisingly thick and creamy…surprising because it doesn’t have any Greek yogurt in it. The frozen banana slices add to the creaminess, along with a little almond milk (you can’t tell by the taste that this smoothie is dairy-free!). Another thing I love about this smoothie is that it has just the right amount of sweetness, and it’s sweetened by honey. I also really like the mango-orange-banana combination–these flavors go so well together!
