Million Dollar Dip

If you’re watching any football or basketball games, you need to try this easy dip to snack on for game day! It’s called Million Dollar Dip and some say it’s called that because of the phrase, “it tastes like a million dollars.” Some people also call it Neiman Marcus Dip, or they used to. So you may have heard of this dip with either name. It’s a popular dip for holidays and get-togethers, and also perfect for game-watching!

There are different versions of this dip out there, so I made my own version of what sounded best to me. This is a thick, creamy dip and is often served with crackers, but you can also serve it with tortilla chips, pretzels, or assorted raw veggies—it’s great with all or any of those! If you’d like the dip to be a little less thick, you could stir in a little extra mayonnaise or add in a Tablespoon or two of Half & Half or heavy whipping cream. You’ll have to try it and see for yourself if you think it tastes like a million dollars! 🙂

MILLION DOLLAR DIP by NancyC
Makes 8-10 servings

1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Optional: dash of cayenne pepper and paprika
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
4 green onions, thinly sliced
2/3 cup real bacon bits or pieces, or cooked and crumbled bacon
1/2 cup slivered almonds

In a medium-size bowl, mix the mayonnaise and cream cheese, blending well. Then mix in the garlic powder and dashes of cayenne pepper and paprika, if using.

Add in the shredded cheese, green onions, bacon, and almonds. Mix everything together until well combined.

Serve immediately in a dip bowl or chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Serve with your favorite crackers (like Ritz®), corn or tortilla chips, pretzels, and/or raw veggies. You can also use this as a spread on celery sticks or bagels, or as a topping on a baked potato!

Note: if you want the dip to have a thinner consistency, stir in a little extra mayonnaise or a Tablespoon or two of Half & Half or heavy whipping cream.
