I’ve seen so many great charcuterie boards on blogs, websites, and Pinterest, and I was inspired to try one myself! It’s really pretty easy to put one together. I thought it would be fun to do one in the shape of a Christmas tree! You’ll want to decide ahead of time what items you’ll want to include in your board—most savory charcuterie boards include cheese, crackers or baguette slices, veggies, fresh or dried fruits, cured meats, nuts, pretzels, or other dippers, and even some dip. Then there are dessert charcuterie boards that can include holiday cookies, candy, and other fun snacks.
I decided to stick with savory flavors—this board works great for holiday snacking or even a simple meal. And the great thing is, you can customize it and “make it your own.” The recipe I’m sharing below is a good basic guide, but feel free to add or substitute other foods you enjoy!
In case you’re wondering, I created my holiday board on the beautiful A Gracious Home Charcuterie Board from MaryandMartha.com. It’s the perfect size for any kind of charcuterie board you’re wanting to create! It also makes a great serving tray for other foods, and it’s food safe.
Here’s a little more detail on the Christmas Tree Charcuterie Board I made…
Christmas Tree Charcuterie Board
CHRISTMAS TREE CHARCUTERIE BOARD by NancyC
Serves 6 to 8
Include any of the following:
Several kinds of cheese, sliced or cubed
Crackers or baguette slices
Olives, cherry tomatoes, celery, or other veggies
Cured meats (like salami, smoked sausage slices, pepperoni)
Fresh and/or dried fruit
Rosemary sprigs for garnish
Optional: nuts, pretzels, dip (these can be placed around the board in small bowls if you like)
It helps to use a parchment paper liner as a guide, cut in the approximate size and shape of the tree you want to create. Place the parchment liner on the serving board.
Start arranging ingredients in rows over the parchment liner and serving board from bottom to top. You can arrange ingredients in any order you prefer. In the charcuterie tree I created, there’s a bottom row of sliced cheddar cheese (with a cracker for the tree trunk), then olives, crackers, cherry tomatoes, more cheese and meats, more crackers, and fresh kiwi slices at the top. Also included at the sides are dried apricots. The “tree-topper” is a cheese-shaped star on a round cracker!
Tuck in fresh sprigs of rosemary at the sides of the rows for a tree-like effect. You can also include some rosemary within the rows of the tree as a filler if you like.

That’s all there is to it! Not only is it a yummy, festive food arrangement, it’s fun to make, too! Have you made any charcuterie boards?
