I’m a big fan of caramel-flavored treats, especially this time of year! Like this Caramel-Apple Dip—it’s so good and easy to make! It has a rich, buttery, sweet, caramel flavor and the texture is just right for dipping slices of apples or pears. Or whatever fresh fruit you like! You could even dip dried fruit into this. Or pretzels, if you have a taste for something sweet-and-salty. As you can see, there are lots of yummy possibilities! 🙂
This recipe makes about 2 1/2 cups of dip. If you happen to have any leftover, you can also use it as an ice cream topping or drizzle it over a slice of apple pie or apple, chocolate, spice, or yellow cake! Or even brownies! We can’t let any of this rich caramel goodness go to waste, right? 🙂
Caramel Apple Dip
CARAMEL APPLE DIP by NancyC
Makes about 2 1/2 cups
1 (11-ounce) bag of Caramel Bits or caramels, unwrapped
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
Optional garnish: 2 teaspoons chopped peanuts (or pecans), or toffee bits—or 1 teaspoon each of nuts and toffee bits
Sliced apples to serve with the dip
Add the Caramel Bits or caramels, the sweetened condensed milk, and the butter into a small to medium-size saucepan and cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently until mixture is smooth, creamy, and well-blended.
Pour the caramel dip into a small bowl. If desired, garnish the top of the dip with a sprinkle of chopped nuts and/or toffee bits.
Serve the dip while still warm with sliced apples. You could also serve with other fruit like sliced pears, sliced bananas, or pineapple chunks. Or serve with dried fruit, like apricots or dried apples. And you can even serve it with pretzels for a yummy sweet-and-salty snack! 🙂
Notes: You can refrigerate any leftover dip for up to two weeks. And you can heat up leftover dip and use as an ice cream topping or drizzle over apple pie, brownies, or cake!

The dip and the apples in the photos above are shown in the Wood Serving Bowl and Dip Bowl Set from MaryandMartha.com. It’s perfect for serving sweet dips like this, or any kind of dips and chips, or dips with veggies—creamy dips, guacamole, salsa, cheesy dips—you name it!
This is a great recipe because it’s quick and easy to make…and it tastes so good! Are you a caramel fan? What kinds of caramel treats do you like to make?

This sounds delicious and looks like fun. I like the idea of dipping the pretzels as well!
