Ideas for a Christmas Gathering

Yesterday I went to my first Christmas party of the season! It was a gathering with coworkers, and it was at our department manager’s home. The entire house was so beautifully decorated for the holidays! I wanted to share some photos with you to give you some holiday decorating inspiration and entertaining ideas!

Their front door is adorned with an eye-catching handknitted wreath, welcoming you inside this cozy home. This wreath was made by my manager’s wife Gayla, who is very talented at creating home decor, and also has her own business called Jubilee Fabric.

As you enter the dining room, you see the dining table decorated in a “Farmhouse Christmas” style. There’s such a great mix of patterns here, with the tablecloth, table runner, and placemats!

I really like the centerpiece too! 🙂

This festively-decorated Christmas tree is in the living room, and it has a red-and-white-theme, tying in with the decor in the dining room.

I especially like the ruffled red checkered garland and wooden beads with touches of red, white, and neutrals—both types of garlands work so well with farmhouse-style decor!

Of course, when you’re entertaining, it’s a great idea to have a little dessert station set up for your guests so they can help themselves to some goodies! 🙂

Another nice idea—have a variety of fun holiday mugs on display for guests to enjoy their hot cocoa in!

Last but not least, this beautiful centerpiece is set up on the kitchen island for guests to admire as they fill their plates with yummy food! If you have a good-sized kitchen island, this is a great way to add a touch of Christmas decor to your kitchen!

I hope you enjoyed this little “home tour” of Christmas ideas and inspiration! Do you have any special tips that you use in your own holiday decorating and entertaining?
