If you’re looking for a fun, quick, easy snack to make, try this Candy Corn Trail Mix–it’s a colorful, yummy blend of sweetness and saltiness, and the perfect treat for fall! Just mix all the ingredients in a bowl and it’s ready. It’s great for packaging up in small bags, too, if you’re needing some special treats to give out!
CANDY CORN TRAIL MIX by NancyCreative
Makes 15 cups
- 4 cups Golden Grahams OR Vanilla or Honey Nut Chex cereal
- 2 1/2 cups bite-size pretzel twists (like Rold Gold Tiny Twists)
- 2 cups lightly salted dry roasted peanuts or cocktail peanuts
- 3/4 cup dark or golden raisins
- 3/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1 cup roasted sunflower kernels
- 2 cups candy corn
- 2 cups M&M’s plain chocolate candy (or substitute 2 cups chocolate chips–semi-sweet, white, dark, or milk chocolate)
In a large bowl, add all ingredients and mix together by tossing with a large spoon. Serve in the bowl or package into treat bags. If you want to make a healthier autumn trail mix, you can omit the candy corn and M&M’s and substitute 2 cups of dark chocolate chips.

These look so cute and colourful and photograph beautifully as well. I think trick-or-treaters will absolutely love them! 🙂
Yes, the mix is bright and colorful–fun to eat! 🙂
I made something very similar the other day for my some of my work colleagues! We are always munching on something on the hospital’s behavioral health unit, so I came up with a new mix. I used chocolate Cheerios for the cereal and blueberries for the raisins, since I’m allergic to them-and if the maker can’t sample the goodies, why bother??? 😉
Your version sounds great with the chocolate Cheerios, Jill! Perfect for munching on at work! 🙂
Ooh, I love this!! Another excuse to buy more candy corn!
Yes, it’s a great way to put candy corn to good use! 🙂
Well, I think I could manage to eat a bowl full of this fun treat! Colorful and yummy!
Looks so yummy!
This would be dangerous around me! I would be scooping up a wee handful every time I walked by the bowl:) This is such a pretty snack!xx
Thanks, Barb–I was scooping up lots of handfuls after I made it, so I had to quickly put it in treat bags to give away! 🙂
Love this!! Sounds like a great recipe!!!
