I tried to get some hand lettering practice in this week! I know so many talented designers who do great hand lettering, and seeing what they do is so inspiring! I thought I’d start practicing by doing a word every week.
This past week has been super busy, so I’m thankful to have a chance to rest this weekend! Hope you all are having a relaxing and restful Sunday. After a busy week, we all need a day of rest, don’t we?
On the seventh day God had finished His work of creation, so He rested from all His work. GENESIS 2:2 NLT
This sounds like it could be a description of a confident woman in today’s world, doesn’t it? It was actually written in ancient times. This verse is found in The Bible in the Book of Proverbs, Chapter 31–a chapter that describes the characteristics of a godly woman. It’s amazing how these words are just as relevant to women today, thousands of years later, as they were when they were first written!
Have you sent out Christmas cards or e-cards this year? Or made your own personalized cards? Since I’m a greeting card designer, sometimes the cards I send are ones I’ve designed myself. Here are some of my DaySpring® card designs that were selling in stores this year…

I received some cards myself in the mail today. It’s always so nice to read those handwritten notes and see the family pictures that are tucked inside the cards. And read the messages that celebrate the birth of Jesus. After all, the gifts we exchange with each other aren’t really the focus of the season–the most important thing about Christmas is that it’s a celebration of Jesus, God’s Gift to us. As Linus would say,“That’s what Christmas is all about.”
Hope you’ve had time to send greetings to those special people in your life!
