If you’re a fan of snack cakes, this is one you’ll want to try! It’s really easy to make and has just four ingredients—chocolate instant pudding mix, milk, chocolate fudge cake mix, and mini semi-sweet chocolate chips. No eggs, oil, or butter are needed! The result is a moist, dense, fudgy, yummy snack cake that I’m sure everyone in your family will love.
You don’t even need to frost this cake, because some of the mini chocolate chips are sprinkled on the cake right after baking, and they give the cake the perfect amount of sweetness on top! You just can’t go wrong with this cake—it’s easy to make, budget-friendly, and super yummy!
Chocolate Pudding Snack Cake
CHOCOLATE PUDDING SNACK CAKE by NancyC
Makes a 9 x 13″ pan
1 (3.9-ounce) package chocolate instant pudding mix
2 cups cold milk
1 (15.25-ounce) package Chocolate Fudge cake mix
2 cups (or one 12-ounce package) mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
Preheat oven to 350˚F. Grease or spray a 9 x 13″ baking pan; set aside.
In large bowl, add the instant pudding mix and the 2 cups of cold milk; beat with a whisk or electric mixer until it thickens some and is well blended. Next, stir in the dry cake mix, then stir in 1 1/2 cups of the mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, mixing until evenly distributed in batter (save the rest of the chocolate chips for sprinkling on top after baking).
Pour or spoon the thick batter into your prepared 9 x 13″ baking pan and bake at 350˚F for 33 to 35 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of mini semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the top of the cake. Let cool, then cut into squares and serve.
