Cheesy Chili Dip

This is a great dip that I first made it years ago and it gets eaten up so quickly that I never have had time to take a photo of it! So I just had to make it again to get that photo! This Cheesy Chili Dip is super-easy to make and really good. You can serve it with tortilla chips, corn chips, or crackers…or a combination of all of these. I like to add a little more cheese than the original recipe calls for—extra cheese never hurts, right? 🙂 I also like to add a little extra chopped green onion, along with some sliced black olives. Yum! I found the original recipe over at myfoodandfamily.com.

CHEESY CHILI DIP by NancyC, adapted from myfoodandfamily.com
Makes 8-10 servings

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (15-ounce) can chili without beans
1 1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup chopped green onion
Optional: 1 to 2 Tablespoons sliced black olives

Spread softened cream cheese onto the bottom of a microwaveable plate or pie plate. Top with chili and shredded Cheddar cheese.

Microwave on high 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, until cheddar cheese is melted (or mostly melted) and dip ingredients are heated.

Sprinkle chopped green onion over the melted cheese, then sprinkle the sliced black olives (if using) over the green onion. Serve with tortilla chips, corn chips, or assorted crackers.
