Making Music with iPads and iPhones

pianoiPad

Yet another use for the popular iPhone and iPad…my friend Rick sent me a link to a “concert” video on You Tube, and I wanted to share it with you! This video is of the iBand from North Point Church in Atlanta…they use iPads and iPhones as their instruments–it’s pretty amazing what they can do! This particular video is from their recent Christmas performance (the photo above is a clip from the video). Take a few minutes if you can and click HERE to watch it!

Pretty incredible, isn’t it?

Take My Life and Let It Be

TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE by Frances R. Havergal, 1874

Take my life, and let it be Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days; Let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands, and let them move At the impulse of Thy love;
Take my feet, and let them be Swift and beautiful for Thee.
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice and let me sing Always, only, for my King;
Take my lips, and let them be Filled with messages from Thee.
Filled with messages from Thee.

Take my silver and my gold, Not a mite would I withhold;
Take my intellect, and use Every power as Thou shalt choose.
Every power as Thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it Thine; It shall be no longer mine;
Take my heart, it is Thine own, It shall be Thy royal throne.
It shall be Thy royal throne.

Take my love, my Lord, I pour At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be Ever, only, all for Thee.
Ever, only, all for Thee.

The words to the classic hymn Take My Life and Let It Be were written in 1874 by Frances R. Havergal. I found the story behind the hymn at Cyberhymnal.org. There was an excerpt written by Frances herself:

I went for a little visit of five days (to Areley House). There were ten persons in the house, some unconverted and long prayed for, some converted, but not rejoicing Christians. He gave me the prayer, “Lord, give me all in this house!” And He just did. Before I left the house every one had got a blessing. The last night of my visit after I had retired, the governess asked me to go to the two daughters. They were crying, &c.; then and there both of them trusted and rejoiced; it was nearly midnight. I was too happy to sleep, and passed most of the night in praise and renewal of my own consecration; and these little couplets formed themselves, and chimed in my heart one after another till they finished with “EVER, Only, ALL for Thee!”

Chris Tomlin recorded a beautiful version of this hymn in 2004; I hope you can take the time to listen to it…just click on this link, Take My Life, to see his video performance of it on You Tube.

From The Inside Out (Everlasting)

This is such a beautiful song and I love the lyrics! If you haven’t heard it, click on this link, From The Inside Out, to see a video performance of it by Hillsong United on You Tube.

FROM THE INSIDE OUT by Hillsong United

A thousand times I’ve failed
Still Your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
Still I’m caught in Your grace

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame

My heart and my soul, I give You control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise, become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Your will above all else, my purpose remains
The art of losing myself in bringing you praise

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame

My heart and my soul, I give You control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise, become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart is to bring You praise
From the inside out, O my soul cries out

My soul cries out to You
My soul cries out to You
to You, to You

The Power of His Name

We sang this song at church today…it beautifully expresses the power and authority of Jesus. Listen to this song by clicking here:

YOUR GREAT NAME by Krissy Nordhoff and Michael Neale
Lost are saved, find their way
At the sound of Your great name
All condemned feel no shame
At the sound of Your great name
Every fear has no place
At the sound of Your great name
The enemy, he has to leave
At the sound of Your great name
Jesus, worthy is the Lamb
that was slain for us
Son of God and man
You are high and lifted up
And all the world will praise
Your great name
All the weak find their strength
At the sound of Your great name
Hungry souls receive grace
At the sound of Your great name
The fatherless find their place
At the sound of Your great name
The sick are healed, the dead are raised
At the sound of Your great name
Redeemer, My Healer, Lord Almighty
Sustainer, Defender, You are my King

In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”     REVELATION 5:11-13 NIV
