Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. DEUTERONOMY 6:5 NIV
A song by Lincoln Brewster, Love The Lord, was playing on the clock radio alarm as I woke up this morning…what a great song to wake up to! If you haven’t heard it before, take the time to listen to it by clicking here. I had to ask myself if I was really living my life that way…am I spending each day loving God with all my heart, soul, and strength?
The Message translates Deuteronomy 6:5 this way: “Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love Him with all that’s in you, love Him with all you’ve got!” The Lord has been showing me in different ways that I need to focus on Him more…so this song and scripture were a very timely reminder for me. It’s easy for me to get busy and distracted with unimportant things and lose focus…but I am learning that nothing is more important than focusing on God, keeping Him first in my life, and loving Him with all my heart!
