Whether you’re wanting to make a good game-watching snack or just something your family can munch on, this 7-Layer Dip is really easy to put together! It has all the great Tex-Mex ingredients and flavors that everyone loves…a tasty refried bean base layer topped with guacamole, sour cream, Cheddar cheese, a mix of diced tomatoes and salsa, green onions, and black olives!
You can layer this on a larger platter or in a round 9″ deep dish glass pie plate—use a clear glass pie plate so all the yummy layers show! If you use a large platter, you can gradually make the layers smaller as you add them, so that you can see all the layers. If you use a glass pie plate, you can spread all layers to the edges, because you’ll be able to see the layers from the side of the pie plate! For the dip shown here, I used an oval platter from Mary & Martha Home, the Simply Elegant Serving Platter.

Serves 10-12
1 (16-ounce) can refried beans
1 1/3 cups sour cream, divided
1 (1.25 ounce) packet taco seasoning mix
2 cups guacamole
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup diced fresh tomatoes
1/3 cup chunky salsa
1/3 cup sliced green onions
1/4 cup sliced black olives
In a medium-size bowl, mix the refried beans, 1/3 cup of the sour cream, and the taco seasoning mix, blending everything well.
On a large oval or round serving platter (or a deep dish glass pie plate, if you want all the layers to show from the side), evenly spread the refried bean mixture. Next, spread the guacamole evenly over the refried bean layer, then spread the remaining 1 cup sour cream evenly over the guacamole layer.
Add the Cheddar cheese next, sprinkling evenly over the sour cream layer. Then mix the diced tomatoes with the salsa and layer this over the cheese.
Sprinkle the sliced green onions over the diced tomato/salsa layer, then add the last layer, a sprinkling of sliced black olives. Serve with tortilla chips.

I just love the combination of all these ingredients, and if you are a fan of Tex-Mex food, you will too! I first made 7-Layer Dip years ago, and it’s one of my favorite dip recipes! Have you made it before?
