I received some Pizza Pockets (Cheese and Pepperoni) from Mikey’s to review; all opinions expressed are mine.
If you’re not familiar with Mikey’s, it’s a brand of gluten-free baked goods that are grain-free, Certified Paleo, dairy-free, soy-free, and non-GMO. Their offering includes English muffins, muffin tops, bread, paleo pizza crust, tortillas, and a variety of pizza pockets.
I taste-tested Mikey’s Cheese Pizza Pockets and Pepperoni Pizza Pockets, and I thought they had a great pizza flavor! I was wondering if the crust would taste a little bland, being gluten-free, but the herbs used in it give it a good flavor. I would say the crust was a good-tasting gluten-free crust. And the inside ingredients in the pockets were really good. I thought the dairy-free, plant-based mozzarella “cheese” and Italian-style pizza sauce had a great flavor—the plant-based cheese tasted like the dairy version to me! The pepperoni version includes uncured pepperoni—I have to say, since I’m a big fan of pepperoni pizza, that the pepperoni pocket was my favorite!
Mikey’s Pizza Pockets also are available in other flavors: Ham & Cheese Pizza, Sausage & Peppers, and Cauliflower Curry. They are a great way you can satisfy your pizza craving and feel good about it, knowing that the ingredients are so much better for you than regular pizza. I’m glad I had the chance to try these pizza pockets from Mikey’s. Have you ever tried any of Mikey’s products?
While I don’t buy snack food, it does sound like they would meet a lot of peoples needs and tastes.
