Minty Frozen Yogurt Shake

If you like the Shamrock Shake at McDonald’s, then you may want to try this minty shake that’s a little healthier because it’s made with frozen yogurt and low-fat milk or soy milk. The peppermint or mint flavoring is really refreshing in this shake, too. It’s a nice St. Patrick’s Day treat, especially if it St. Pat’s happens to be on a warmer day!

So enjoy this minty green shake on St. Patrick’s Day and don’t forger to wear something green! 🙂

MINTY FROZEN YOGURT SHAKE by NancyC

Makes 1 large serving

  • 2 well-packed cups of slightly softened vanilla frozen yogurt (or low-fat or soy ice cream)
  • 1/2 cup low-fat milk, soy milk, or almond milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure peppermint or mint extract
  • 2 to 4 drops of green food coloring

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until mixture is smooth and well-blended—you may need to stop the blender and stir with a spoon to help blend the ingredients if you don’t have a high-power blender.

Pour into a tall glass and enjoy! 🙂

That’s all there is to it! And if you don’t mind some extra calories, you can top this shake with whipped cream and some green sprinkles to make it really festive! 🙂 This shake is also really refreshing on a hot day, so keep it in mind for summertime, too!

  1. Dear friend, this brought back a memory of the first time McDonald’s offered their Shamrock Shake and my girls begged me to stop so they could try it. This would have been their choice now since we’ve all become more health conscious. I’m having one this morning and thinking back to happier times. XOXO
